The quarter definition varies depending on the system of units used, as follows:

  • The quarter (UK) or long quarter, equal to 28 pounds (lb) or 12.70058636 kilograms (kg)
  • The quarter (US) or short quarter, equal to 25 pounds (lb) or 11.33980925 kilograms (kg)

In the United States, the quarters are no longer in use.
